A reimagined space where light, nature and design converge. A multi-level environment infused with greenery and a grand hanging light feature, it transforms overlooked architecture into a place of movement, reflection and immersive experience.

Arcadia: A Living Space

Arcadia reimagines an underutilised portion of the university, transforming it into a multi-level environment where light, greenery and spatial fluidity converge. Once underutilised, the space now breathes with life - its grand hanging light feature acting as a luminous focal point, casting shifting patterns across the layers below. Plants weave through the architecture, softening edges and creating an atmosphere of quiet immersion. Designed as a place of movement and reflection, Arcadia balances openness with intimacy. The interaction of levels encourages exploration, while the presence of nature grounds the space in a sense of calm. More than a redesign, it is a reinvention - an adaptive landscape within the university, shaped by light, growth, and the rhythm of those who pass through.

Problem

Problem

A forgotten space, static and uninviting - lacking warmth, movement and identity.

The below pictures highlight an overlooked space within the university - an area that, despite its structural potential, remained underutilised and disconnected from student life. Lacking identity and purpose, it failed to foster engagement or provide a meaningful atmosphere. The absence of greenery and thoughtful lighting left it feeling static, a void rather than a destination. Without intervention, it would continue to exist as an unremarkable passage rather than a space of interaction and experience.

Solution

Solution

Arcadia breathes life into the void, weaving light, greenery and layered space into a dynamic, immersive environment.

Arcadia transforms this neglected space into a multi-level environment where light, nature, and movement converge. A grand hanging light feature acts as a luminous anchor, drawing the eye and shaping the atmosphere. Layers of greenery soften the architecture, introducing warmth and vitality. The redesigned levels encourage exploration, creating a dynamic yet intimate setting for students to gather, reflect, and engage. More than a renovation, Arcadia is a reinvention—an adaptive landscape within the university, shaped by light, growth, and the rhythm of those who pass through.

Concept

Concept

Arcadia is a living space - where light, greenery and layered design transform architecture into experience.

Arcadia is built on the belief that space should do more than exist - it should evoke, transform, and inspire. This project redefines spatial experience, balancing design and function to create an immersive environment where light, greenery and movement shape interaction. With a strong emphasis on atmosphere, adaptability and thoughtful execution, Arcadia turns architecture into a living presence. By weaving layers of nature and illumination into its multi-level form, it fosters connection, exploration, and a sense of belonging. More than a redesign, Arcadia is a statement - an invitation to engage with space in a way that is fluid, dynamic and deeply felt.
